Galvannealed

Galvannealed is when metal, like steel, gets coated with a special layer of zinc to protect it from rusting. Imagine you have a metal toy car that gets rusty when it gets wet. But, if you put a special coat of paint on it, it won't rust anymore. That's kind of what happens to metal when it gets galvannealed.

The process of galvannealing starts with the metal being heated up really hot. Then, it gets sprayed with a special liquid that's made of molten zinc. The hot metal reacts with the liquid zinc and a new layer forms. This new layer is very strong and prevents the metal from rusting.

What's cool about galvannealed metal is that it's really sturdy and can withstand a lot of wear and tear. Plus, it looks nice and shiny. So, if you see a metal object with a shiny silvery finish, it might be galvannealed!
