ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Gamma chord

Gamma chord is a big fancy word that means the sound we hear when we play or hear notes that are really high up on the piano. Just like how we can hear low sounds like a bass guitar, we can also hear really high notes like a bird singing.

Now, the gamma chord is special because unlike most chords that are made up of three or more notes, it's only made up of two notes that are played together. These two notes are usually the highest notes on the piano and they sound really pretty when played together.

Think of it like this, you know how when you blow up a balloon and then let the air out really fast, it makes a high pitched squeaking sound? The gamma chord is kind of like that, but it's a happy and musical sound instead of a loud and annoying one.

So, next time you hear a really high note on the piano, just remember that it could be part of a gamma chord and that means it sounds super special!
