Gangue

Gangue is a type of rock that usually isn't very valuable, but it is often found around more valuable rocks. Think of it like a sandwich - you want the delicious filling, the valuable rocks, but the gangue is like the bread: you need to get rid of it to get to what really matters! Gangue is usually disposed of in special piles near where it was collected from.
