ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Gate guardian

Imagine you have a really important room in your house that you don't want just anyone to walk into. So you put a gate outside that room and someone to guard it, that person is called the "gate guardian". Their job is to make sure that only people who are supposed to go in the room can get past the gate.

In some big places, like museums, they also have gate guardians. They might be a person or a statue or a robot or something else. Their job is to make sure that only people who have paid to come into the museum can go in and see all the cool stuff inside. They also make sure that no one takes anything from the museum, because sometimes people try to steal things.

So, a gate guardian is like someone who stands guard at the gate or entrance of a place to make sure only the right people go in and everyone stays safe.
