Gecko feet

Gecko feet are special because they have tiny hair-like structures on them called "setae." These setae help geckos stick to surfaces like walls and ceilings!

Imagine you have a bunch of little hairs on your hands and feet, like the brush on a paintbrush. When you touch a surface, these tiny hairs stick to it and hold you in place, just like how gecko feet attach to surfaces.

Geckos can control these setae by tensing or relaxing muscles in their feet. This allows them to climb up walls and ceilings and even walk upside down!

Scientists are studying gecko feet to learn about how to create new materials that can stick to surfaces like geckos do. So, gecko feet are not only cool, but they are also helping humans make new things too!
