A volcano is a big hole in the ground that erupts with lava, steam, smoke, and ash. Lava is a hot, flowing liquid made of melted rock. It flows down the sides of the volcano and can be very destructive. The steam and smoke come from the volcano when the lava heats up and erupts. Ash is like dirt and dust that is shot out of the volcano during an eruption. Volcanoes are found in different parts of the world and can be very dangerous.
