DNs (or Domain Names) are like a name for your computer (or website). Just like you might have a name and an address, your computer or website also has a name and an address. The name is the Domain Name, and the address is the Internet Protocol (IP) address. DNs help us find our computers or websites on the Internet. For example, when you type www.google.com into a web browser, it looks up the DN and finds the IP address, which is like a location. Then it can find and show the website.
