ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Gehazi

Okay, son, so Gehazi is a character in the Bible. He was a helper to a prophet named Elisha. When Elisha performed a miracle, which means a really amazing thing that happens that seems impossible, and healed a man named Naaman of a disease, Naaman wanted to thank Elisha by giving him gifts. But Elisha refused to take anything.

However, Gehazi saw the gifts and thought he could secretly take them without Elisha knowing. He ran after Naaman and lied, saying that Elisha now wanted the gifts. Naaman happily gave them to Gehazi and he went back to Elisha.

But Elisha knew what Gehazi had done and was very disappointed in him. Elisha told Gehazi that his greed and dishonesty would cause him to suffer from the same disease that Naaman had been healed from. And it happened. Gehazi was punished for his actions and had to live with the consequences.

So the lesson to learn from Gehazi's story is that lying and being greedy can lead to bad things happening to you in the future. It's important to always be honest and do the right thing.
