Gender representation in video games

Okay, so when you play a video game, you get to be a character in a story. Sometimes these characters can be boys or girls, or even animals or monsters. But when we talk about gender representation, we are focusing on how these games show boys and girls, and whether they are shown in a fair way.

Let's say there is a video game where you can pick to play as a boy or a girl. If both characters look and act the same, then that game has equal gender representation.
