ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Genderqueer fashion

Genderqueer fashion is clothing that can be worn by people who do not necessarily identify as male or female. Just like how some colors can be for boys and girls, genderqueer fashion is for everyone who wants to wear them, whether they are a boy or a girl or neither.

For example, instead of only wearing clothes that are considered "feminine" or "masculine," someone who identifies as genderqueer might wear clothing that does not fit into those traditional categories. This might include clothing that has a more unisex or neutral look, such as a shirt that is not fitted or doesn't have any particular design that is typically associated with one gender or another.

Genderqueer individuals may also wear clothing that blurs the lines between masculine and feminine or combines elements of both. For example, a person might wear a suit but choose to wear makeup or accessories usually associated with women.

Ultimately, genderqueer people use fashion to express their identities in a way that aligns with who they are, regardless of whether it fits traditional gender norms or not.
