Gene dosage

Okay kiddo, let's talk about something called gene dosage.

Imagine a recipe where you need one cup of flour to make some yummy cookies. If you accidentally add two cups of flour, your cookies won't turn out very good, right? That's kind of like gene dosage.

Our bodies have all these things called genes which give instructions on how our bodies should work. Sometimes, if we have too many or too few copies of a gene, it can cause problems. Just like adding too much flour to your cookies messes them up, having too much or too little of certain genes can mess up how our bodies work.

So, think of gene dosage like a recipe. Our bodies need just the right amount of each gene to work properly.
