ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Generic brand

Okay kiddo, so let's say you go to the store and you want to buy a toy car. But you see two different toy cars that look almost the same, except one is called "Hot Wheels" and the other one is just plain "Toy Car". The one called "Hot Wheels" is the original brand that made the car and the other one is a generic brand.

A generic brand is kind of like a copy of the original brand. It's usually cheaper because it's not made by the same people who made the original brand. It still works and does the same thing, but it might not have all the fancy features or be made with the same high-quality materials.

So when you see a product with a generic brand at the store, it's like seeing a copy of the original brand. It might not be as cool, but it will still do the job and save you some money.
