ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Genetic attraction

Genetic attraction is when people who are related to each other, but never met before, feel attracted to each other. This can happen because our genes, which are like tiny instructions inside our bodies, can sometimes make us feel attracted to people who have similar genes to us.

For example, you might have a long lost cousin who you've never met before, but when you finally meet, you feel a strong pull towards them. This could be because you both have similar genes that make you feel attracted to each other, even though you may not consciously realize it.

However, it is important to remember that genetic attraction can be harmful if acted upon, as it can lead to serious genetic problems for any children that may result from a relationship between close relatives. This is why it is important to keep in mind that while genetic attraction may occur, it is important to prioritize appropriate relationships that take into account the potential risks involved.
