Geography of Greenland

Greenland is a really big island that's way up north, near the North Pole. It's part of North America but it's closer to Europe. Greenland is really, really cold all the time because it's so far north. Even in the summer, the temperature is way below freezing.

A lot of Greenland is covered in ice, which means it's like a really big freezer! But there are also parts of Greenland that aren't covered in ice and have animals living there, like reindeer, Arctic foxes, and even polar bears.

Greenland has lots of mountains and glaciers, which are big pieces of ice that stay frozen all year round. The highest mountain in Greenland is called Gunnbjørn Fjeld, and it's over 12,000 feet tall! That's like climbing 12,000 ladders stacked on top of each other.

Even though Greenland is really cold, it's still an important place for people to live. The people who live in Greenland are mostly Inuit, which means they have been living there for a long, long time. They are really good at surviving in the cold by eating fish and hunting animals like seals.

So, in summary, Greenland is a big, cold island with lots of ice, mountains, and animals. People have lived there for a long time and are really good at surviving in the cold weather.
