ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Geomatics

Geomatics is a science that combines geography, math, technology, and computer science to collect, analyze, and manage geographic and survey data. This data can be used to create maps, models, and digital representations of Earth. For example, a geomatics scientist might use satellites to take pictures of an area and then use math and computer science to create a 3D model of the landscape. They might use GPS to measure distances and angles, or to map out a certain area. Geomatics helps us better understand the world around us.
