George Archer-Shee

George Archer-Shee was a real person who lived a long time ago in England. He was a little boy who went to a special school called a naval school. But one day, a teacher at the school accused George of stealing a money order. A money order is like a piece of paper that you can use to pay for things.

George denied that he stole the money order, but the teacher didn't believe him. So, George's parents got involved and they had to go to court to prove that their son was innocent. A court is a place where people go to figure out who did something wrong and what should happen next.

The court case was a big deal in England at the time. Lots of people read about it in the newspaper and talked about it. It was even made into a play later on!

In the end, George was proven innocent. That means that the court decided he didn't steal the money order after all. It was a big relief for George and his family.
