Geothermal power in Australia

Okay kiddo, have you ever felt really warm when you go outside on a sunny day? That's because the sun is really hot and it makes things around us warm too. But did you know that deep underground there is heat too? It's called geothermal heat and it comes from the Earth's core.

In some parts of Australia, people use that heat to make electricity. They do this by drilling deep holes into the ground where the heat is, and using it to make steam. The steam then turns turbines to create electricity. It's like a giant tea kettle, but instead of making tea, it makes electricity!

The good news is that geothermal power is really clean because it doesn't create any pollution. And because the Earth's heat is always there, we can use it over and over again. Plus, it's really reliable because the heat doesn't change like the wind or the sun.

Australia has a few geothermal power plants, but not as many as other countries. That's because it can be really expensive to drill deep holes and build the power plants. But as technology gets better, more and more people might start using geothermal power because it's a really good way to make electricity without hurting the planet.
