German Historical School

Okay kiddo, so you know how we learn about history in school, right? And how we learn about different groups of people and how they lived their lives and influenced the world around them. Well, the German Historical School is a way that some people studied history a long time ago in Germany.

Now, when we study history we usually focus on important events, like wars or revolutions, or important people, like presidents or kings. But the German Historical School was interested in something different. They wanted to study how regular people lived their lives and how that influenced history.

So, instead of just studying the big events, they looked at things like how people made money, what they ate, where they lived, how they interacted with each other, and how all of these things affected the world around them. They believed that if we understood these things, we could better understand how history really happened.

The German Historical School was also interested in looking at history from different perspectives. They believed that each group of people, like farmers or factory workers, had their own unique experiences and that we needed to study those experiences to really understand history.

So, in summary, the German Historical School was a way that people in Germany a long time ago studied history by looking at how regular people lived and how that influenced the world around them. They believed that understanding these things was key to understanding history.
