German Prisoners of War in the United States

During World War II, there were many soldiers fighting against each other. If a soldier was captured by another country, they would become a prisoner. Unfortunately, a lot of German soldiers were captured by the United States. That meant they were Prisoners of War (POWs). The United States had to keep the German POWs safe and let them have some basic rights. The United States treated them fairly and they were even given jobs on military bases, in factories, and in farms. This also helped the United States during the war. The POWs were eventually allowed to go home when the war ended.
