German occupation of Estonia during World War II

During World War II, Germany was fighting against Estonia's neighbor, the Soviet Union. In 1941, Germany occupied Estonia to use it as a base of operations against the Soviets. This means that German soldiers came to Estonia and took control of the country.

The German soldiers made Estonians do things they didn't want to do, like work for them or give them food and supplies. They also mistreated Jews and other people they considered to be enemies.

This lasted for several years, until the Soviets were able to push the Germans out of Estonia and take over the country again. It was a difficult and dangerous time for the people of Estonia, who had to live under two powerful countries fighting for control over their land.
