Gerontophobia

Gerontophobia is when someone is afraid of or dislikes older people.

You know how sometimes when you go to your grandparent's house, they might seem different than your parents or friends? They might move a little slower, they might need more help with things, and they might tell stories about things that happened a really long time ago.

Well, some people get scared or uncomfortable around older people because of these things. They might feel like they don't know how to act around them, or they might worry that they will say or do the wrong thing.

But just like with any other group of people, it's important to treat older people with respect and kindness. They have a lot of wisdom and life experience that we can learn from, and they deserve our love and care just like anyone else.
