ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Ghazi (warrior)

A ghazi is like a superhero warrior from long ago in some countries. They were famous for fighting for their religion and taking over new land to spread their beliefs.

Imagine you really like pizza, and you want everyone else to love it too. You might try to convince your friends to eat more pizza, or even tell people in other parts of town how great pizza is. But if someone was really against pizza, you might decide to fight them to try to make them see things your way. That's what a ghazi would do, but instead of pizza, it's about their religion.

Ghazis were very brave fighters and often went on long journeys to fight other warriors who believed in different things than they did. They would carry special swords and shields, and wear armor to protect themselves from being hurt.

When a ghazi would win a battle, they would take over the land from the other warriors and claim it for their own religion. This would make their religion stronger and help it to spread even further.

Overall, a ghazi is like a hero who fought for what they believed in and used their strength to make a difference for their religion.
