Gill v. Whitford is a Supreme Court case in which a group of Democrats in Wisconsin challenged the state's election maps, arguing that they had been drawn in a way that favored Republicans. The Supreme Court ruled that the plaintiffs had a right to challenge the maps, but did not make a decision yet about whether the maps were actually unconstitutional. It is up to the lower court to decide that. In other words, the Supreme Court said that the Democrats should be allowed to bring the case to a court to decide if the maps were made unfairly.
