Goahti

A goahti is a traditional home, very commonly used and built by the Sami people. The Sami people are a group of people that live in the northern regions of Norway, Finland, Sweden, and Russia. They have their own language, culture, and traditions. The goahti is a circular-shaped building, like a big tent made of wood and covered with reindeer hides or canvas.

Imagine building a fort out of blankets and pillows in your living room. A goahti is a lot like that, but much bigger and made with more durable materials. It's a home that can fit many people and keep them warm and dry. The walls are made of wooden poles that are stuck into the ground and bent at the top to make a dome shape. Then, the poles are tied together at the top to keep them in place. After that, the walls are covered with reindeer hides or canvas to keep the cold out.

Inside the goahti, there is a fireplace in the middle to keep everyone warm. The fire is made with wood or coal, and the smoke goes out through a hole in the top of the goahti. There might also be pieces of furniture like tables and chairs made of wood or reindeer antlers.
