Godparent

A godparent is like a special grown-up friend that your parents choose to help take care of you. They promise to always be there for you and help you learn about important things in life. They might give you special presents on important days, like your birthday or Christmas, and they may even be there for big events like your graduation or wedding. Sometimes, if something happens to your parents, your godparent will take care of you like they would. It's kind of like having an extra really nice and trustworthy adult in your life.
