Goodnight Kiwi

Okay kiddo, do you know what a kiwi is? It's a little bird that can't fly and is found in New Zealand. Well, the Goodnight Kiwi is a character on television in New Zealand that appears right before the nightly news starts. The Goodnight Kiwi is a little bird that wears a nightcap and stays up all night long. Before he goes to sleep, he makes sure to turn off the TV transmitter so that everyone else can go to bed too. This is called signing off. So every night, the Goodnight Kiwi shows up and signs off TV for the night, letting everyone know it's bedtime.
