Great Feasts of the Orthodox Church

The Great Feasts of the Orthodox Church are special days throughout the year when we celebrate important events in the life of Jesus and his followers. They are some of the most important and exciting days of the Orthodox year, and they take place throughout the year.

One of the most important Great Feasts is Christmas, which celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ. It is very exciting because we get to sing Christmas carols, decorate Christmas trees and most importantly, celebrate the birth of our savior.

Another important Great Feast is Easter, which celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. We celebrate with lots of special church services, singing songs about Jesus and sharing a special meal called the Pascha with our families and friends.

Other Great Feasts include the Feast of the Transfiguration, the Feast of the Assumption, the Feast of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, and the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross. Each of these feasts celebrates important moments in the story of Jesus and his followers, and they give us a chance to remember these special events and feel grateful for all that Jesus has done.

Overall, the Great Feasts of the Orthodox Church are important because they allow us to celebrate important moments in the life of Jesus and his followers. They are a time of great joy and celebration, and they help us feel closer to God and to each other.
