ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Green chemistry

Green chemistry is a type of chemistry that helps protect the environment. It works by reducing the amount of potentially harmful chemicals that we use. For example, if a factory needs to make something, instead of using harmful chemicals to do it, green chemistry would suggest using less harmful chemicals or even finding ways to use natural materials. Green chemistry also works to find ways to recycle materials, such as turning them into something useful. This helps us use fewer of the Earth’s resources and reduces the amount of waste produced. In this way, green chemistry helps protect our planet and makes sure that it can be enjoyed by everyone for years to come.
