Greenhouse effect

The greenhouse effect is like having a big blanket over the Earth. Sunlight comes in from the sun and warms up the ground, but instead of the heat just bouncing back into space, the big blanket traps some of the heat inside. This warms the air and makes the Earth warmer than it would be without the greenhouse effect.
