Grommet

Have you ever seen a hole in a piece of fabric or leather that has a little ring or circle around it? That's called a grommet! It's usually made of metal or plastic and it helps protect and reinforce the hole so it doesn't rip or tear easily.

Grommets can be found in all sorts of things like shoes, curtains, backpacks, belts, and even tents! They come in lots of different shapes and sizes too. Some grommets are small and some are really big, depending on what it will be used for.

The way a grommet works is simple. First, a hole is made in the material. Then, the grommet is put into place, and the two parts are locked together to hold everything in place. This makes it easier to hook things onto the material, like a backpack strap onto a grommet on the backpack.

So, that's a grommet for you! A little ring or circle that helps protect a hole and makes it easier to attach things to the material.
