Ground-adjustable propeller

Okay kiddo, so you know what a propeller is, right? It's like a fan that helps a plane or a helicopter fly. Now, some propellers can be adjusted to change the angle of the blades. That's called a ground-adjustable propeller.

Why do we need to adjust the angle of the blades? Well, planes and helicopters fly at different speeds and altitudes. So, if the angle of the blades is too steep or too shallow, the propeller won't work efficiently and the aircraft won't fly as well as it should. By adjusting the angle of the blades, we can make sure the propeller is working just right.

Now, a ground-adjustable propeller is called that because it can be adjusted while the plane or helicopter is on the ground. An airplane mechanic or a pilot can adjust the propeller blades to make them just right for the flight they're about to take.
