ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Guarani language

Guarani is a language that people from Paraguay and other countries in South America speak. It's an old language that has been around for a really long time, even before the Europeans came to South America.

It has lots of words that are different from English, but some words are a bit like English too. For example, the word for 'hello' in Guarani is "mba'éichapa", which is quite different to the word "hello" in English.

Lots of people who speak Guarani also speak Spanish or Portuguese, which are other languages that are spoken in South America.

The interesting thing is, many people from Paraguay use Guarani more often than Spanish! They might use it to talk to their family or friends, or even at school or work. It's a really important part of their culture and heritage.
