Old Tupi

Old Tupi was a language spoken by Indigenous people in Brazil before Portuguese people arrived. Just like how you speak English, they spoke Old Tupi to communicate with each other. Old Tupi words sound very different from English words and they also had different ways of putting words together to make sentences. Over time, some parts of Brazil changed and Tupi slowly started to disappear. But, there are still some Indigenous people in Brazil who continue to speak and preserve the Old Tupi language.
