Gudi Padwa

Gudi Padwa is a special celebration that takes place in India. It happens every year in late March or early April when the sun moves into a new position in the sky. It's like a special birthday for the new year!

To celebrate Gudi Padwa, people hang a special flag called a "gudi" outside their homes. This flag is made of a stick or bamboo and has a colorful cloth tied to it. Some people also decorate their homes with flowers and bright colors to welcome in the new year.

On this day, people also enjoy special foods like sweet rice and sweet vermicelli. They might also perform traditional dances and participate in parades. It's a time for communities to come together and celebrate the start of a new year with lots of joy and happiness.
