ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Gurów massacre

Well, my dear little friend, a long time ago in a country called Poland, there was a very sad and scary event that happened in a place called Gurów. You see, during World War II, some very mean and bad people called the Nazis took over Poland and started doing very nasty things to the Polish people.

One day, the Nazis came to Gurów and they started shooting and killing innocent people who were just trying to live their lives peacefully. They did this because they believed that certain people, like Jews and Gypsies, were not good enough to live and they wanted to get rid of them.

The people who were killed in Gurów were just ordinary people who had families and friends who loved them very much. It was a very sad day for them and for their loved ones.

But, you know what? Even though this terrible thing happened, the people of Gurów and all of Poland did not give up. They kept fighting and working together to make things better. They showed that love and kindness can conquer hate and evil.

So, my dear little friend, always remember to be kind to others and to stand up against things that are wrong. That is how we can make the world a better place.
