Gushi (poetry)

Gushi is a type of poetry that people in ancient China used to write a long, long time ago. It's a special kind of poetry because instead of just being a bunch of words that rhyme, gushi tells a story.

The people who wrote gushi were really good at painting pictures with their words. They could describe things so well that it felt like you were right there in the story.

Sometimes gushi stories were about famous people, like really cool kings or brave warriors. Other times the stories were about everyday things, like the sun rising or the leaves falling from a tree.

People loved gushi because it helped them escape from their everyday life. They could read or hear a gushi story and imagine themselves in a different world.

Even though people don't write gushi as much anymore, it's still really important to Chinese culture. Some people still read and appreciate the stories today!
