Gustave Flaubert

Gustave Flaubert was a famous French writer. He wrote a lot of books, but he is most famous for a book called 'Madame Bovary', which was published in 1857. 'Madame Bovary' tells the story of a woman, Emma Bovary, who gets bored with her life and makes bad decisions that lead to tragedy. Flaubert wrote about people and their emotions in a very realistic way. He believed that even ordinary people could be interesting, and it's this approach to writing that makes him one of the most important writers of the 19th century.
