ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Gynaecology

Gynaecology is the study of the female reproductive system. Just like how boys have a penis and testicles, girls have a vagina, uterus, and ovaries. A gynaecologist is a doctor who specializes in taking care of these female body parts.

When a girl grows up, she will start having periods. This means that her body is getting ready to have a baby one day. Sometimes, the periods can be painful or there might be something else wrong with the reproductive system. That's when a girl might go to a gynaecologist to get checked out.

The gynaecologist will examine different parts of the reproductive system to make sure everything is working properly. They will also help prevent any problems or diseases by performing regular checkups.

As girls grow older, they might want to start having babies. The gynaecologist can help with this too by helping plan and monitor a pregnancy. They can also help with any problems that might arise during pregnancy or childbirth.

It's important for girls to take care of their reproductive system by going to regular checkups with a gynaecologist. It can help keep them healthy and happy!
