ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

gauss law

Gauss Law is like a rule that says when seeing something electric like electricity or magnetism, it starts off with the same strength in all directions, and then gets weaker the further away you go. For example, if you have a big lightning bolt in the sky, it might be really strong right inside the cloud where it started, but it will become weaker the further away you go until eventually, you can't see it or feel it. Gauss Law says that no matter where you look, the strength of the electric or magnetic force starts off the same and gets weaker the further away you go!
