Gynecomastia

Gynecomastia is when boys or men develop breasts that look like a girl's breasts. This happens when there is too much breast tissue or fat in the chest area. Sometimes, hormone imbalances can cause gynecomastia. Hormones are like messengers in your body that tell different parts what to do. Men and boys have a hormone called testosterone, which helps them grow muscles, have a deep voice, and develop their "manly" features. But sometimes, they can also have too much of another hormone called estrogen, which is what girls have more of. This can cause breast tissue to grow in the chest area. Gynecomastia is usually not dangerous, and it often goes away on its own. But if it is bothering you, there are treatments available to help reduce it.
