HI-SEAS

Hi-seas stands for Hawaii Space Exploration Analog and Simulation. It is a group of people that live and work together in a dome on Hawaii's Mauna Loa volcano to learn what it's like to be an astronaut living and working on Mars. Inside the dome, the people wear space suits like astronauts, and have to follow a schedule that's like what astronauts would follow on Mars. They have to do experiments, collect data, fix and build things, and do daily chores, just like astronauts would do on a real mission to Mars. They stay in the dome for a long period of time (up to a year!) to make sure they are well prepared for a mission to Mars.
