HIRE Act

The Hire Act is a law made by the government to help create more job opportunities for people who are currently unemployed. It works by giving employers certain incentives, or rewards, for hiring new employees who fall into certain groups, like veterans or people who have been unemployed for a long time.

So let's say a company wants to hire someone new. If they hire someone who has been unemployed for a long time, that person is known as a "long-term unemployed worker." Under the Hire Act, the company would get a tax credit, or a kind of discount on their taxes that they pay to the government, for hiring that person.

The Hire Act also provides incentives for hiring veterans, who are people who have served in the military. If a company hires a veteran, they can get a tax credit based on how long the veteran was unemployed before they got hired.

Overall, the Hire Act is trying to encourage companies to hire more people who have had a hard time finding jobs. By giving them incentives to do so, the government hopes to help more people get back to work and strengthen the economy.
