HPTLC

HPTLC stands for High Performance Thin Layer Chromatography. It's a way to see how different things in a mixture move across a thin piece of paper when you put the paper into a special mixture called a solvent.

Let's say you have a bunch of markers with different colors, and you want to know what's in each one. You can use HPTLC to find out!

First, you take a thin piece of paper. It's so thin you can see through it! Then, you draw a line on it with each marker you want to test.

Next, you put the paper into a container with a special mixture called a solvent. This is like putting the paper into a pool of special water. The solvent will make the colors in the markers move across the paper.

As the solvent moves up the paper, it takes the colors with it. Different colors move at different speeds, so they separate from each other on the paper. It's like if you're playing with your toys and your mom takes away one toy, then another toy from different places. They all end up in different spots!

Finally, when the solvent has stopped moving up the paper, you take the paper out of the container. You can see different colored spots on the paper where the solvent moved the colors from the markers. Each spot tells you what's in each marker!
