Hacktivism

Hacktivism is a form of activism (working to bring about a positive change in the world) that uses technology to spread a message. Hacktivism is usually done when people are trying to speak up about something that is unfair or wrong. A hacker might use computers and networks to spread a message or to make a website with information about a social issue. They might also use computers to break into computer systems and networks to get information that could be used to fight for a cause. Generally, this is done to make sure that the people who are in power listen to what the activists have to say.
