Haloketone

Haloketones are a type of chemical compound that can be made when a molecule of a halogen, like chlorine or bromine, joins with a molecule of a hydrocarbon, like methane or ethane. The halogen molecule breaks off part of the hydrocarbon, and what's left is a haloketone. It's like taking a piece off of one type of building block to make something new. Haloketones are used in some medicines, perfumes, and food flavorings.
