Han Yong-un

Han Yong-un (1879-1944) was a Korean scholar and activist who fought for the freedom and independence of the Korean people. He believed in the idea that all people should have the right to self-determination, which means that they should be able to decide for themselves how their country is governed and to have control over its resources and government decisions. Han Yong-un was an important leader in the independence movement that fought against Japanese colonial rule. He wrote articles and books and made speeches around the country to spread the message of freedom and independence. He worked with other leaders of the movement, such as Kim Koo, to develop plans and strategies to push for independence. He also organized rallies and protests in many cities to make sure people had a voice in their own freedom. He ultimately was arrested in 1921 and died in prison in 1944, but his work and ideas were important in helping the Korean people achieve their freedom and independence in 1945.
