Handgonne

Okay kiddo, have you ever seen a gun before? A handgonne is kind of like an old-timey gun that people used to use a long, long, long time ago.

Basically, it's a metal tube that you hold in your hands and you put gunpowder and a projectile (like a bullet or rock) into it. Then you light the gunpowder on fire, and it makes a really loud noise and sends the projectile flying out the end of the tube.

Handgonnes were used a long time ago, before modern guns were invented. They were usually about a meter long and kind of heavy to hold. They were difficult to aim and took a long time to reload, so they weren't very accurate or practical.

But back in the day, people used them for hunting and fighting. They would carry them around and if they saw something they wanted to shoot, they would load up their handgonne and hope they hit it!
