ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Harsh voice

Harsh voice happens when someone talks in a rough or scratchy way. It can sound like they're talking through gravel or rocks. Imagine if you ate a big spoonful of dry cereal and didn't drink any water afterwards, your throat might feel scratchy and rough, like a harsh voice.

Harsh voice can happen for many reasons. Sometimes people talk too much or yell too loudly and it can make their voice sound rough and scratchy. Other times, people might have an illness or allergies that make their voice sound harsh. It's important to take care of your voice by drinking water, not yelling too much, and seeing a doctor if it stays harsh for a long time.
