ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Hellen

Hellen was a person who lived a very long time ago in a place called Ancient Greece. You know how there are different countries with different rules and customs, like how you might eat different foods or speak different languages when you visit different places? Well, Ancient Greece was kind of like that. Hellen was very important to the people who lived in Ancient Greece because they believed that he was the father of all the people who lived there.

People in Greece at this time believed in a bunch of gods and goddesses, and they thought that Hellen was related to them in some way. They believed that Hellen was the son of a god named Zeus and a goddess named Themis. They thought that all the people who lived in Greece were related to Hellen and that they were all part of his big family.

So, even though he lived a very long time ago, people in Greece still talk about Hellen and remember him today because they believe that he was an important part of their history and their story as a people.
