ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Hellmuth, Obata, and Kassabaum

Hellmuth, Obata, and Kassabaum are three words that represent a company (an organization that does work) that designs buildings. Imagine you want to build a big toy castle, but you don't know how to make it. You go to Hellmuth, Obata, and Kassabaum, and they help you make a plan.

Hellmuth, Obata, and Kassabaum (or just HOK) use lots of special tools to design a building plan. They listen carefully to what you want your building (or toy castle) to look like, who will use it (for example, adults or kids), and what it will be used for (for example, a house or a toy).

To make sure everything fits and is safe, they use cool machines (called computers) to make a 3D model (a pretend version of what the actual building will look like). They can even use robots to help them build parts of the building!

When they are all finished with the plan, they give it to someone called a contractor who will actually build the building. Then you can enjoy your brand new building (or toy castle) with your friends and family!
